Joseph P. Lattimore
Attorney at Law
Practice Areas
Criminal law and procedure has become increasingly complex in recent years. To be an effective advocate for criminal defendants, an attorney must stay on top of changes in sentencing, search and seizure law, and immigration consequences stemming from a criminal charge. My practice is devoted solely to representing criminal defendants in the trial courts and on appeal.
Trial Courts
Attorney Lattimore regularly appears in the Mecklenburg County Courthouse on behalf of clients charged with a variety of criminal offenses. This includes all misdemeanors in District Court and felonies in Superior Court.
Whether you are charged with a drug offense, a crime involving a firearm, larceny, robbery, or a domestic violence offense, Attorney Lattimore has the experience to defend you.

Appeals
The battle is not over when you have been convicted and sentenced. Often, a person's conviction was brought about by errors committed by the prosecutor and/or the trial judge. Sometimes, those errors are considered significant enough to warrant a reversal of the conviction and a new trial.
Attorney Lattimore will analyze the record from your trial to determine if the prosecutor made an improper closing argument, or the judge erroneously admitted prejudicial evidence or gave a faulty instruction to the jury. Utilizing his strong research and writing skills, Attorney Lattimore will draft a persuasive brief and advocate for you on appeal.
